I just cleaned out my purse. Some of the items found therein:

-an Amnesty International sticker to put in the window of my car
-the stub from my latest paycheck
-a Mozart c.d.
-a target receipt
-a gift card to Omega Sports, received by William at his birthday party and given to me for
Safekeeping
-a discount card for Michael’s
-the faculty handbook for Trinity School
-a book of matches
-a piece of baseboard trim so that, when I go back to Home Depot to buy the small amount of trim we still need to finish off the work in the basement, I’ll buy the Right Kind
-a fabric pocket that holds, when folded, a collapsible fabric frisbee that Bill got at Lenovo
-13 birthday candles, the ones we Didn’t burn at his birthday party that was over a week ago at the pool
-a bottle of hand sanitizer
-a small tub of Geranium and Lavender Moisturising Body Cream, obtained at the resort we stayed in on the Masai Mara back in June
-sunglasses
-my wallet
-the checkbook
-assorted lipsticks and chapsticks
-my work badge and desk key
-a note that Everett left for me on my desk last Friday, when he and his siblings took the key to my room and unlocked the door for me while I went on to faculty devotions. It reads: “Dear mom. We left the keys to your clasroom in the lock becase we could not take them out with out making the door be locked. –Everitt”

I’ll definitely be keeping that last one.

Someone once said that a woman’s purse grows as she ages. Yours, however, has remained exceptionally small as you have youthful!

Purses speak, don’t they? Of the days and times of mother, wife, teacher, woman…..They speak of past, present, future. They truly hold the essence of life, now, in this moment. Hidden in the inner most dark recesses of these things called purse, truths are found, hidden mysteries. Perhaps archeologists could learn a thing or two from ancient woman’s tied skin pouch. Beautiful!RD
