Coming Along

The proposal is submitted, the desk cleaned out, the posters off the classroom walls, the books packed in boxes.

There remain papers to be graded, packing to be completed, and the last (half) day of school to be enjoyed.

But we have definitely moved on from where we were last night. Yes, things are coming along.

For the future is hope, and out of kindness providence has given man time, so that he may live in expectation. –Thomas Mann, Joseph and His Brothers, p. 793.

See I knew you could get it done. Or at least start. Maybe you should kick it up to 4 things at a time. Or just skip the packing.

“For the future is hope, and out of kindness providence has given man time, so that he may live in expectation.” Oh, my. This one lovely sentence must, I think, be committed to memory. And if this is any indication of the kind of wisdom one can find in Mann, then JOSEPH AND HIS BROTHERS must be a worthy read. Thank you for sharing this. Blessings upon this season of busyness and expectation!

The proposal is done?! Just six days ago it was looming large! Hurray! And is it just a week from now that you will be on your way to Africa? Look how very quickly things change! 🙂 I miss you… that hasn’t changed.
