Old Photograph

So I told you, Oh Reader, some weeks ago that Bill added a nifty sidebar to my on-line screen that shows, among other things, photos from our archives. These pictures come up randomly, fading into one another, and span fall of 1999 until now, though the earlier years are spotty.

Anyway, some of the pictures come up more frequently than others. This one– I exaggerate not– comes up All The Time. And being (laugh here, Sister Emily) a Somewhat Superstitious sort, I’m thinking that the frequency of a picture’s appearance might Mean Something.

Okay, I don’t think it Means Something, but I do think it’s weird that some of them come up so frequently. So I’ve decided that, from time to time, I’ll post the frequent photos, and see if that mollifies them at all, see if that’s what they are wanting.

I’m kidding.

But I’ll still post the frequent ones, because this amuses me. And this, Oh Reader, is the Purpose Of This Blog.

So here we have a photo from Halloween 2003. I am a Cat Burglar, because Bill bought me a cat mask that year. But you cannot see the mask, because it is on top of my head like a pair of sunglasses. You can, however, see my large and fancy dangly earrings, because I am the sort of Cat Burglar who wears her loot Immediately.

And Bill is a member of the Red Sox baseball team, the Red Sox team that last won the World Series oh so long ago. And that is why he is dead, because it had been So Long since the Red Sox last won a World Series.

Remember, this photo was taken in 2003. I know that the Red Sox have since redeemed themselves.

He is Very Funny. Don’t you think he is Very Funny?

I think the phattedcalf might not have laughed at Bill’s costume in 2003, but he can laugh at it now. Posted by Picasa

It’s most apparent that your husband must be home – many moons have passed! I’m glad for you! I’ll just have to exercise patience as I await your wonderful words!!

Hi Tracy, I am guessing that you are Lynne’s friend, whose company I have had the opportunity to enjoy maybe twice (?) in the however-many-years-it-has-been that I’ve known her? Well, welcome, welcome, welcome to my blog. I’m glad it gives you joy!

Yes, you are right – Lynne turned me on to your blog months ago. She said I’d love it, and she was right.
