Start the Morning Right

Begin with an impossibly blond little girl in a too-short nightgown that is covered with pink flowers, who wears it despite its size because it’s a “Princess nightgown.” She is, after all, a princess. Begin with this little girl charging into the room, pink bunny in tow, laughing.

Follow this with a six-year-old boy, central upper tooth obviously absent, in Superman pajamas, complete with cape. He is chasing the girl, and he is laughing too.

Both of them climb up onto the bed, the girl snuggles down in, the boy sits on top, giggling.

Look over at the occupant of the other pillow, who is the Daddy, and the Best Friend. He is looking at you with only one open eye, and he is smiling.

Then look at the clock. 8:41. Not 7:41, and certainly not 6:41.

That’s a good beginning.

Wow, 8:41. That is amazing. And it is always nice to begin with laughter. I began with sniffles and sneezes. But laughter is very nice indeed.

The best thing is that I can see this in my mind’s eye…and I laugh too…but then I cry/…because I am the Gransue and I am allowed
