Images of Switzerland

I had forgotten about these, but Bill soon reminded me.
We bought a bag in Migros, the great
big grocery store in which I could afford almost nothing when we lived here (I remember being hungry A Lot). But apparently we afforded these chips a few times, because I know we ate them. And they are YUM.

Yesterday morning the Widmer’s cat was sick to her stomach, so when we went to the store, Susanne bought her “cat grass.”

“Cat grass?” you say.

Well, we don’t need such stuff where I come from because grass is always readily available to soothe a cat’s ailing stomach. But here, where the snow is feet deep, one must occasionally buy cat grass for one’s feline friend.

Tsetsoffli (sp?) (the cat) was Much Happier after she had some of this.

And if it’s a dog you’ve got, well, then, you’ll be taking your dog for a walk no matter how deep the snow is. If you’re Swiss, anyway. We saw all sizes of dogs out for walks.

The Swiss are impeccably neat (and that is an understatement). We were amused by these boxes, located periodically along the “wander weg” (the “wandering ways”). They are full of little bags, so that you don’t have to leave your dog’s mess out for the pleasure or repugnance of others.

We have things like this in the States now, but I find that many dog owners don’t use them.

They use them in Switzerland. I’ve never seen a dog mess yet. Posted by Picasa
