Did You Know

that it can take up to an hour to put away ten loads of laundry?

And this even when you separate the laundry by room, and within room by drawer, and don’t bother ironing At All.

Why is putting the laundry away such a Dismal Chore?

But I have my excuses. This back-to-work-full-time thing takes its toll. And this wasn’t a typical week (have we had a typical week?), what with parent-teacher conferences and all. I don’t think I got home before five p.m. even Once (okay, maybe on Monday….). So I think it’s pretty good that I’ve been getting the laundry done, and separating the loads properly, and not bleaching anything, or shrinking anything, or ruining anything.

Yes, I’ve been doing the separating, the transferring, the folding. It’s the putting away that I, it would seem, Can’t Handle.

And this weekend would have been the time for that, but I opted for cleaning the mini-van instead (those muffin crumbs are So All Gone), and that– combined with three soccer games– pretty much was my Saturday.

And Sunday. Well. Sunday was the HopeFest. More on that to come. I promise.

So today was the day for the laundry-put-away. I saved it until the evening and it- honestly- took me an hour.

But it’s done now. At least Bill’s and my clothes, and Emma Gracie’s, are all put away. The boys’ clothes are waiting in neat piles for them to do that chore. And the laundry itself? Almost down to nothing.

Phew.

The ironing is Another Story.

TEN LOADS what in the heck are you washing??? The curtains?? or did you break everything down into very specific colors? Anyhow, glad you were able to put it all away. And sorry that with out a doubt you now have more laundry waiting to be washed, dried, folded and put away.
