So, yeah. Maybe I am just a wee bit fixated. We’ve been home for a week now, but I’m still missing our Chicago friends.
Maybe it’s just that I hadn’t seen Lynne in Over A Year.
Maybe it’s just that, until last Friday evening, we had never met Gwen, that lovely and absolutely necessary addition to their family who arrived from China last (Last) December.
Maybe it’s just that some things are just The Way They Ought To Be, and the absence of that is Absolutely Awful. I think we are simply supposed to be near those we love and, with them in Chicago and us in Durham, this is something we Simply Have Not Got.
William wrote Seth a letter this week. These boys have been friends since their mothers were pregnant with them, and they share a passion for inventing things. William’s postscript reads as follows: “Do you know what would be cool? If we made a teleportation device. Then we could see each other every day.”
I think that sounds like a Really Good Idea. Get on it, boys.
