It’s hot here.
HOT.
The only place to be on a day like today in a place like this one is a swimming pool. Or indoors, with the air conditioner running.
I am Not Happy about this.
As I drove down the road today on one of Too Many Errands, I looked at the trees from the vantage point of my air-conditioned vehicle and wished for rain.
I think my soul could use a little rain, too, as I am feeling a bit dry myself. Dry and withered and spent, though I am doing precious little these days– and this, because I feel too dry and withered to really want to try anything.
I have So Much More to say about our time in Africa, but I just can’t seem to muster it right now.
Sorry.
But as I am decidedly dried up right now, I will give you something that someone else has given me– and it’s something you can do to help Africa, and Kenya, specifically, and Someone In Kenya, more specifically. Here is a link to my friend Steven‘s blog. Steven and Amy live in South Africa, but their work there has taken them throughout much of East Africa, and on his blog, Steven has recently shared a need and something you can do to help.
Please go to his blog either through this link or at his name on the right, and scroll down to the post entitled “Help Our Friend Mary.” This is something you can do.
But I didn’t link only directly to that post, because I think that this post from Steven (currently at the top of his blog) is Very Definitely Worth Reading– and by that, I mean you should read the article to which Steven directs you.
In fact, I think you should read Steven’s blog Every Day. Yes, I think you should bookmark it and read it. I think it should be in your lists of favorites.
At any rate, it has more to offer than this blog has these days.
