How you know when you are really really good friends with someone: you exchange Christmas cards with his parents.

(Yes, I still haven’t mailed out all my Christmas cards.)

(Yes, I am still going to do it.)

(I don’t care.)

(I have stamps now!)

Roberto and I have always said how nice it would be to send a Mid-Summer Letter since everybody sends mail at Christmas time and the mailbox is so lonely mid-summer. Of course, we say this every Christmas. And then at Mid-Summer, we tend to say, “We’ll do a Christmas letter.” You can see the pattern…
