Oh, A.A.Milne. "Round about and round about and round about we go. . . All around the table. . . The table in the nursery." That was our favorite.

Where did the time go?

When Where the Wild Things Are, the movie, came out last year, I found myself reciting, "The night Max wore his wolf suit and made mischief of one kind and another. . . ." And I could still make it halfway through the book. Without ever looking at the book.

There's just Something about reading to your children. Something you've captured with this post. Thank you.

this made me tear up.

James and I love to read "When we were small" together. Normally he is crawling all over me and biting my nose or grabbing my hair in the process, but I can tell he likes it. :)

I cried reading this, Rebecca. How sweet.
And I've been meaning to write you to thank you for the link to your "sermon" that you sent over. I've listened to it once and will listen to it again. It seems everywhere I turn people are talking/writing about Longing... what a timely yet timeless message! I especially loved your elaboration on John leaping for joy in the womb... it feels sometimes like this restless longing is the oldest thing in me; I dare say I too was longing even in my pre-natal state, even as I grew from nothing into something and my finger nails emerged and my heart found its shape! I found out very recently that I'm going to be an aunt, so your image was doubly meaningful :)
Oh, so much has changed since the summer, Rebecca- we must e-mail!
