Yes, Leslie, you may quote some or all or anything from this post, and thank you for wanting to….Jen, yes, I have seen Mr. Tolkein’s initials on that lovely forearm of yours, and I understand completely…. This summer will be my Tolkein summer, though I’ve already vowed it will be my Harry Potter summer…. Can I do both? Do I want to? In that debate, I do believe that Mr. Tolkein will win….tworivers and Beth, thank you for liking the post. Of course, you don’t yet know why I wrote it. I did see Gandalf on Christmas morning. I truly did, and it was amazing. Who’d have thought He’d show up like that? We’ll talk….

You KNOW I love this post!!!! You've known me for a long time and have personally seen me lugging my copies of this book around the halls of Cresset for four years! And seeing as I have J.R.R. Tolkien's initials tattooed on my forearm, you could say that I love these books. Guess what I'm reading right now?Lovely post! Excellent. You have captured so much, thematically speaking, of what I love about these books. I’m reading them now, I’m at the beginning of The Return of the King. I look forward to the horns of Rohan, the thawing of Eowyn, the merciful justice, the wedding of the king, and even the farewells. It is all so bitter and sweet. It is what life is about, it really is.
