Oh Annoying One, Keep trying. You can't annoy me.And thanks for the movie suggestions, but I haven't even got two hours to rub together (or watch a movie) so, although that would speed up the plog digestion, it ain't gonna happen.Still, you're always good for helping me to think outside the box.

You could always just watch the movie Cold Sassy Tree. I am pretty sure the movie is the same as the book. And for that matter you could watch the movie for East of Eden as well but I have my doubts that it can be as good at the book. I doubt there is a movie of the Thomas Mann book and it would appear I am too late to suggest that…

Yes, Lynne, you are right. Chances would be "slim," not "dim," and in the clarity of the morning light, with a good eight hours of sleep in me, I can now see my error. What a moron.Tworivers, I can't agree with you re. my loss on the Cold Sassy front. As you know, I've tried to read that book before.... And it's not like I'm dying or anything. Perhaps I'll read it someday. Which is more than you can say for Wuthering Heights. And my excuse is better, you'll agree.UNC, I'm sure, has an excellent team this year. I did not watch the game.

And now in the clear light of morning, we can say that Duke did pull out a victory (yes, it should have been a blow-out, but our team is better than expected this year, no?) and your dim chances are brighter (or would that be your slim chances are fatter?).And all I can say about the Cold Sassy Tree chances are … your loss.
