Yes, Dad, at least my blog can go with you to Africa. I'm so grateful for modern technology and communication that goes Both Ways! Love you!Lynne, I wish I had been there for your dinner. I know it was delicious, as they always are. And I definitely agree: 80's and mums just don't go together. Sigh.Beth, I'm glad I'm not the only one unhappy with the weather, since so many people seem to think that heat is Always better than cold. Thanks for reading. See I was going to post about this same thing but my post would have been something like .. OH MY WORD!!! where is the Fall weather?? Having such warm weather and having the sun set so early is really messing me up. Your post is lovely and that is why each day I visit your site countless times to see if you have something new to say and then I take 3 days to post a comment.

I made a fall meal for dinner on Monday… navy bean and ham soup, homemade biscuits, spinach salad. The kind of meal I love to make and to eat, but the kind of meal that is not appropriate or appreciated in the heat of summer. Monday was a perfect day for it… it felt very autumnal (I like your word!) that day, kind of 60ish and crisp. It was a day like that again today. I hear that the weekend is supposed to be in the low 80’s, which would have been lovely in the blisteringly hot July we had, but for the beginning of October… well, it’s just too much. I’m sure we’ll enjoy the sunshine and all, but now that the summer flowers have been pulled out and thrown away and pots of mums sit on the front porch, 60ish is the kind of weather we’re looking for. Sound right?

We are so glad that we can still read your blogs when in Africa! We plan to post them for all to read on our cabin door.I just love the way you can make such a mundane thing as 'normal' weather sound spectacular!!!Dad
